The recent rapid development of the IT industry has provided the technological foundation for the unification and globalization of international markets, thereby intensifying global competition among companies. For Korea, which has a particularly high dependence on foreign trade, to survive and continue sustainable development under the current pressure, it is essential to encourage growth and competitive capabilities for the nation and its companies but also the people. Accordingly, our department focuses on strengthening foreign language proficiency, primarily in English, Chinese, and Korean, while enabling students to master global business theory and practice based on business administration.

Department Characteristics

  • Fostering global management talent: Nurturing students??creative capabilities and a spirit of challenge to proactively lead the rapidly changing international environment and economic order in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
  • Cultivating business talents equipped with both theory and practice: Ensuring students possess excellent foreign language proficiency based on English, Chinese, and Korean with a global management mindset.
  • Mutually complementary learning system for Korean and international students: Major courses are conducted with a focus on foreign languages and global management. Foreign language instruction is provided under the supervision of excellent native professors to enable practical, hands-on conversation. The core curriculum emphasizes mastering international trade, the global economy, and international enterprises, building upon general business administration, marketing, accounting, and finance.
  • Pathway Programs: "2+2" or "3+1" joint and dual degree programs with leading foreign universities, including those in the United States and China, and integrated dormitory programs as well as mentor-mentee programs for Koreans and international students.

Dongyang University offers the first Railway College department covering the entire northern metropolitan area of Seoul. In the future, 9 lines including the Dongbuk Line, Sinansan Line, and Wirye-Sinsa Line, as well as the GTX, a metropolitan express railway, are scheduled to open in stages. Railway extensions and existing line improvement projects are being promoted in 5 major cities nationwide, marking a true era of urban railways.

  • Locomotive engineer/driving, electrical, signal, communications, equipment, and wireless control roles; railway controller; operation and maintenance (O&M) specialists.
  • Positions at public utility corporations (e.g., KEPCO), national/urban transit authorities (e.g., Korail, Seoul Metro), private conglomerates (e.g., POSCO, Sungshin Cement), and specialized O&M companies (e.g., Rotem SRS).

Dongyang University is equipped with the nation's top-tier railway education infrastructure and practical training environment.
